"Meditation in its truest form is a state of restful awareness. Mind is aware of the outside world but does not comment on, respond to, contemplate, judge, care, concern about, nor grasp at it. It is alert stillness, a merging of subconscious and conscious where you find yourself peacefully between the two.
Accessing this state of mind is highly beneficial to focusing thought, clearing emotions, and healing the physical body. While in meditation, the nervous system is given a much needed rest from the constant bombardment of stresses throughout the normal day. Breathing is naturally paced, and the body is in an ideal state for healing to take place.
Since our thoughts, fueled by emotion, eventually become words and actions in our lives, clearing the mind and bringing it to a state of meditation each day is essential to our wellness. If you’re just beginning meditation, try fifteen to thirty minutes at a sitting. Eventually, you will be able to access this state during activity. This is called active meditation..Learning to meditate is the greatest gift you can give yourself in this life.
For it is only through meditation that you can undertake the journey to discover your true nature, and so find the stability and confidence you will need to live, and die, well.
